Radical Mechanical was founded in 2016 as “After Hours Mechanical” when owner Cody McKay realised that too often, businesses and clients didn’t have the time to get to and from the mechanic’s workshop during normal work hours. Cody wanted to reimagine the mechanic workshop experience – making it more convenient, comfortable and accessible for his customers.
So, Cody fit out the back of his Holden Crewman with a tool box and set out to provide mobile mechanic servicing and repairs.
Started as one man show
Then to a fully decked out mobile mechanics van with the latest diagnostic tools.
Finally, to a workshop in Mayfield East.
Today, to its permanent home on Darby St., Newcastle.
The name Radical Mechanical is a nod to the business’ beachside roots, founded in Merewether, NSW, and the idea that we’re radically changing the way you think about your mechanic. We aren’t here to up-sell you on products you don’t really need or make you feel like we’re speaking a different language, we are here to support our customers and their cars – ensuring a top class of experience every time.
